One thing I'm guessing is that a lot of people are choosing to side wi the Volkihar Vampires over the Dawnguard because they tin become a Vampire Lord. While many of you probably already know this, just for those of you that don't, you volition exist entering the Soul Cairn regardless of which side you cull. In addition, y'all tin can't enter the Soul Cairn unless yous're one of the undead. And then, if you sided with the Dawnguard, then one time you open up the portal to the Soul Cairn, Serana tells y'all that she either has to trap some of your soul within of a soul precious stone to permit passage into the Soul Cairn, which would slightly weaken yous, or she can turn you lot into a vampire to let passage, which automatically allows you to become a Vampire Lord. So, regardless of which side yous choose, you tin can yet become a Vampire Lord. The only difference is when along the questline you become one. So for those of you who really wanted to join the Dawnguard but didn't because they wanted to become a Vampire Lord, yous can go 1 and still join the Dawnguard.
Nonetheless, I exercise non know if the Dawnguard allow y'all to go on that power, since I haven't gotten that far forth in the questline. I will post an update once I find out.

Hey Tony, i've just finished the Dawnguard questline and i won't spoil anytihing for you don't worry. As it turns out (mini spoiler) - that Serana sticks round after the questline is finished and basically still offers te chace to go a vampire. Hope this helps.

Oh sorry forgot to mention, yeah full vampire lord! Plus i was already a werewolf so that'due south not an issue either and i think (but im not certain) you can be cured and and so turn over again and again besides!

Okay, I have a few more than updates. I foud out that the Dawnguard will not aid you if yous decide to become a Vampire (same as the mode the Blades won''t aid y'all unless you impale Paarthurnax, except there'southward no dialogue whatsoever). Nevertheless, you tin become a vampire lord again whenever you want to past having Serana transform you back. So you can complete the main questline in Dawnguard, and so forget virtually the Dawnguard birthday and remain a vampire lord.
Besides, I could actually utilize some help with summoning the Reaper in the Soul Cairn.

Yes, you go a vampire lord and not just a regular vampire. As well, after she tells you that the process of turning someone into a vampire is somewhat intimate, and you have the option to tell Serana that you're glad she'due south the one doing it (though I don't know and kind of doubt that choice exists if your characters female, merely it does exists for males).

It is very interesting.
That way you can fully bask teh whole DLC without having to recreate a new character to do the other side of the DLC.

The Reaper can exist summoned by collecting 3 reaper jewel fragments dotted around the soul cairn. They are located in chests on superlative of various buildings that have one of the behemothic glowing soul gems that suck the life out of you floating above. I can't remember which floating gems they're under though i'g afraid, merely they're large, easy to see and there's not that many of them and so it won't take long. Once you've got them, you need to go to the Reapers' lair on the very Right (East) side of the map, on the second side of the wall, simply to the left of one of the keepr towers.
The trouble is whether y'all find it worth information technology to even summoon the reaper, he's basically a darker version of a keeper that after you've destroyed, he just explodes and drops nothing only a thousand soul jewel, a chip of gold, a potion and an iron warhammer. Nevertheless a slightly interesting fight though if you can spare the fourth dimension.

Hey guys I would really capeesh the assist if someone could tell me how to gear up this. Whenever I entered the soul cairn with my soul partially trapped it gave my graphic symbol a weird result. Information technology seems if he's burning with barely visible bluish flames and makes a really abrasive burning dissonance continuously. And makes my controller vibrate non-end. Yes, in one case you choose the Dawnguard, you tin become a Vampire Lord in gild to enter the Soul Cairn, although you don't have to. And in one case you lot become a Vampire Lord, you tin no longer do any of the Dawnguard's quests. You can cure yourself by doing the quest "Ascension At Dawn" in Morthal (the same style as curing regular vampirism). And in one case the Dawnguard questline is over, you lot can return to existence a Vampire Lord anytime y'all desire past having Serana turn yous. You lot still won't exist ableto assist the Dawnguard until yous cure yourself once again, so y'all can continue to switch between being a Vampire Lord and helping the Dawnguard. However, Serana can exist cured, meaning she woouldn't exist able to plough y'all subsequently that.
