FOODshed: Agronomics and Art in Action focuses on sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship, and artists' utilise of food as subject field affair or medium. The exhibition and programming include 14 exhibiting artists in the gallery at Smack Mellon, 3 public projects in the nearby Dense community, also every bit public workshops in collaboration with the artists in the exhibition. The gallery exhibition features artworks and inventive projects around agriculture and nutrient that address farming every bit both activism and art form. The artists in this exhibition advocate for an organic, regional and local approach, which they are manifesting in their own lives.

Patricia Watts, founder and curator of ecoartspace will moderate FOODprint, a console discussion on food and climate to investigate the current national fence well-nigh our food systems and the intersection of farming, culture and climate as it relates to the Upstate/NYC focus of the FOODshed exhibition. FOODshed will offer workshops at Smack Mellon in collaboration with the artists in the exhibition and With Food in Mind, a nomadic arrangement operating at the intersection of nutrient, visual civilization, and social change that develops drop-in workshops, afterschool classes, and other educational programs that dynamically combine art and nutrient. CSPA Quarterly: Issue 10

Dorsky Museum announces programs for Beloved Mother Nature, Hudson Valley Artists 2012

The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art announces the programs they have organized in conjunction with the exhibition Honey Female parent Nature, Hudson Valley Artists 2012, on display in the Alice and Horace Chandler Gallery through November four.

Dear Mother Nature: Hudson Valley Artists 2012

The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Fine art presents its annual exhibition of work past artists from the mid Hudson Valley.

The exhibition will run from June 23 to November 4, 2012 in the museum’s Alice and Horace Chandler Gallery and N Gallery.

This year’south exhibition titled Dear Mother Nature: Hudson Valley Artists 2012 is organized past invitee curator Linda Weintraub. Ms. Weintraub served as the showtime managing director of the Edith C. Blum Art Found at Bard College where she originated 50 exhibitions and published over 20 catalogues. She is the author of several books about contemporary fine art including To Life! Eco Art in Pursuit of a Sustainable Planet, to be published by the University of California Press in 2012.

CSPA Quarterly
